Ossifying fibroma is a rare benign neoplasm located in the bones of the skull, most commonly the bony part of the lower jaw. It rarely occurs in the maxilla and paranasal sinuses. Diagnosing tumors of the nasal cavity, nasopharynx and paranasal sinuses includes radiological, endoscopic and histological methods. Surgical strategy depends on the surgeon’s experience and available technical equipment and may adopt an open or endoscopic endonasal approach; both methods are equally effective. This article describes a rare case of ossifying fibroma in the nasopharynx. A 72-yearold female patient was hospitalized with complaints of nasal obstruction, headache and rhinorrhea. Disease history, clinical symptoms and СТ scan images were analyzed. The patient underwent endoscopic endonasal tumor removal under the control of image-guided assistance. Operations and the postoperative period were uncomplicated. The patient was discharged on postsurgical day 7. This clinical case demonstrates the main points and advantages of endoscopic endonasal surgery.
