Glottic myxoma mimicking unilateral Reinke’s oedema. Problem: Myxoma of the larynx is a rare, benign neoplasm of mesenchymal origin. Hoarseness is the most common clinical presentation. It can be confused with polyps or Reinke oedema because of its appearance and slow-growing evolution.

Case: We report the case of a 40-year-old male previously operated on for a misdiagnosed ‘polyp’ of the same vocal fold. Results: Under the microscope, the tumour revealed itself to be nonencapsulated and composed of an abundant mucopolysaccharide matrix with undifferentiated stellate cells, but without fibrin deposits, haemorrhage, or hypervascularity.

Conclusion: To avoid recurrence, complete excision with adequate margins and long-term follow-up are needed.
