Abstract
Necrotizing fasciitis is a rapidly progressive soft-tissue infection associated with high mortality and morbidity rates. It is rarely seen in the head and neck region and usually develops after infection of the teeth and pharynx. Factors influencing treatment success are early diagnosis, appropriate antibiotherapy, and surgical debridement. We report a case of necrotizing fasciitis occurring in the neck during dental treatment. This study aims to present the clinical features, pathogenesis, and treatment of the disease with the literature.
