Abstract
Cholesteatoma in the maxillary sinus is a rare disease entity and there is not much experience in treating this disease which often leads to recur. Here we report 2 cases of maxillary sinus cholesteatoma and explore its clinical features and surgical approaches in combination with the literature. Our patients underwent endoscopic prelacrimal and natural ostium approaches to completely remove the cholesteatoma. They were followed up for 32 months and 12 months, respectively, without recurrence. This double intranasal approach has the advan- tages of fully exposing each wall of the maxillary sinus, completely removing the lesions, and easy postoperative observation. The double approaches of an endoscopic prelacrimal and a natural ostium could currently be the first choice to remove a maxillary sinus cholesteatoma. Cite this article as: Zhen H, Peng L, Niu D.
